Murder Suspect Apprehended in Multi-Agency Effort

On 2/1/2019, the Bartlett Police Department received a report of a deceased person that resulted in a homicide investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. Through the investigation, a 32 year old suspect from Bartlett was identified.

At approximately 10:20 PM, Burnet County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Williamson County Sheriff’s Office that the suspect’s location had been tracked to approximately the 7400 block of East FM 243 in Burnet County. The suspect was believed to be armed. Burnet County deputies, along with Williamson County SWAT, and a Department of Public Safety helicopter responded to the area. The suspect’s vehicle was located in a field by the DPS helicopter and a perimeter established.

A DPS Aviation Unit drone was used to observe the suspect while a tactical unit was assembled to apprehend him. Williamson County SWAT were advancing on the suspect’s location when he surrendered. He was taken into custody by Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and transported from the scene.

Agencies participating in this effort include Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Burnet Police Department, and Burnet Fire Department.
